ADHD Corner – Category Guide (For writers and contributors)
Use this guide to understand what each category means and what kind of content belongs here. We are not looking for coping tips, productivity hacks, or “how to focus better.” We want truth, depth, and content that moves us toward real change.
1. Ancient Origin
What it means: This is about the deep history of the human mind. ADHD is not a modern disorder — it is a way of thinking that existed for millions of years. This category explores our original nature before the current system took over.
What to submit:
- Thoughts on how human minds worked in earlier times
- Connections between ADHD traits and ancient ways of living
- Reflections on why this way of thinking still exists in us
2. Broken System
What it means: The real problem is not us. It is the rigid system that rewards conformity and punishes difference. This category exposes how the system creates shame, guilt, and struggle.
What to submit:
- Personal experiences of being forced to fit
- Analysis of how schools, jobs, or society damage ADHD minds
- Clear writing that shows the system as the source of the problem
3. Raw Power
What it means: Our natural strengths — the abilities the system ignores or calls problems. This category focuses on what we can actually do when we stop trying to be “normal.”
What to submit:
- Stories of real strengths that appeared in the right conditions
- Reflections on instinct, pattern recognition, energy, or intensity
- Writing that treats our traits as power, not symptoms
4. Fitting Cost
What it means: The hidden price of trying to adapt. Masking, burnout, exhaustion, and the slow damage of forcing ourselves into the wrong shape.
What to submit:
- Honest accounts of what masking and fitting in really cost
- Experiences of burnout and recovery from trying to belong
- Writing that shows the damage of adaptation
5. Own Build
What it means: Creating our own ways of living and organizing life. This is about self-autonomy and building systems that actually fit us instead of forcing us to fit the world.
What to submit:
- Ideas for living differently
- Experiments in creating ADHD-friendly structures
- Thoughts on freedom, independence, and designing life on our own terms
6. Real Gather
What it means: Community and shared truth. Real voices, real stories, and the power of coming together without shame.
What to submit:
- Personal stories and lived experiences
- Reflections on finding others like us
- Writing that builds connection and honesty
7. Next Minds
What it means: What we want for future generations. This category looks forward — how we can protect and free the minds that come after us.
What to submit:
- Thoughts on children and future ADHD minds
- Ideas for a better world for the next generation
- Writing focused on long-term responsibility
8. Long Fight
What it means: This is not a quick fix. It is a long struggle to change how the world treats minds like ours. This category holds the larger vision and the will to keep going.
What to submit:
- Reflections on resistance and persistence
- Vision for large-scale change
- Writing that treats this as a serious, long-term fight
9. Full Unlearn
What it means: Dropping the lies we were taught about ourselves. Unlearning shame, “brokenness,” and the belief that we must become someone else.
What to submit:
- Stories of rejecting old beliefs
- Process of unlearning shame and self-hate
- Writing that helps others free themselves from false ideas
Important for all contributors: Write from truth, not from the need to fix yourself. We are not here to adapt better. We are here to see clearly, speak honestly, and build something different.
